Lexmark Budapest recently received the prestigious Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Hungary 2015 Award. Lexmark was honored in the Sustainable Large Company category, which recognizes the most prominent responsible and sustainable initiatives, products, services and projects of companies operating in Hungary.
“We are delighted to have won this award; it confirms our commitment to CSR initiatives,” said Peter Csucska, general manager, Lexmark Budapest Competence Center.
Csucska said Lexmark won for a number of reasons, including:
- Diverse CSR initiatives. The site’s “Green Team” consists of about a dozen employees dedicated to organizing CSR events. In 2015, nearly 100 Budapest employees participated in numerous volunteer projects, recording more than 1,000 volunteer hours.
- Local CSR strategy. Lexmark Budapest’s CSR strategy builds upon our corporate values with a local touch, such as supporting causes that balance the site’s efforts toward helping the environment, social sensitivity and employee health. The strategy also encourages skill-based volunteering.
- Women at work. Lexmark Budapest is dedicated to equality and career opportunities for women.
- Linking volunteer events with family friendly initiatives. Last year Lexmark Budapest won a Family Friendly Workplace award for connecting the company’s CSR activities with work-life balance. Lexmark was recognized for numerous family friendly policies and activities, such as a flexible work environment, health programs, sports activities and equal opportunity for everyone.
”At Lexmark, managing responsible and sustainable operations is not a single project, but rather an entire program that has been consistently developed throughout the years and has become part of our corporate culture,” said Csucska. “Our CSR strategy has been developed to suit the values defined by our group as well as the values of our company—respecting local conditions, opportunities and needs.”
