As the Official Imaging and Printing Solutions Provider of the PGA of America, Lexmark’s technology, solutions and services will be hard at work on and around the 2014 PGA Championship, being held at Valhalla Golf Club, in Louisville, Ky. through Sunday.
Lexmark will be helping PGA personnel manage and control site operations, printing on-demand tickets, supporting business center services, site security, player scoring and manage print and broadcast media operations.
With some 90 imaging devices spread across 486 acres, Lexmark will ensure the tournament runs without a hitch. During the course of the week, Lexmark devices will print and scan over 200,000 pages. If you are at the course, you’ll see Lexmark at just about every turn.
The tournament starts today, but Lexmark has been working behind the scenes for weeks, readying for the final major tournament of the season, ramping up specialized solutions built to meet the needs of the Championship.
One critical area where Lexmark assists the PGA is in the contestant scoring office. This is where each pro reviews the scorecard and signs the players score to make the score official. Scoring information is then provided to numerous locations on the golf course. All this data is scanned and captured on a Lexmark smart multifunction printer (MFP) and automatically sent to the various publics in need of that information. Prior to the Lexmark solution, the PGA used a combination of fax machines and couriers to get the data out to the masses. With this solution, Lexmark addressed a critical function that answered the PGA’s need.
