Lexmark continues to garner worldwide praise for its commitment to corporate social responsibility.
For the third consecutive year, Lexmark Mexico has received the Empresa Socialmente Responsible (“Socially Responsible Company”) award from the Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía, or Mexican Center for Philanthropy.
“To receive this recognition for the third consecutive year and be acknowledged as one of the companies most committed to its employees, the environment and our communities gives us incredible satisfaction,” said Mario Pedreros, general manager of Lexmark Mexico. “It is the result of an outstanding effort by many people within Lexmark Mexico who have worked on it because of their commitment to the company, but also because they wish to see a better world for everyone.”
For the ESR award, Lexmark was judged on four main criteria:
- Quality of life in the company
- Ethics and corporate governance
- Community engagement
- Care and preservation of the environment
The CEMEFI is a nonprofit organization founded in 1988 that aims to promote a culture of philanthropy and social responsibility in Mexico and strengthen the organized participation of Mexican society.
The distinction in Mexico comes on the heels of Lexmark being named one of the 10 best corporate citizens in the United States by Corporate Responsibility Magazine. That accolade was the sixth consecutive time that Lexmark has been included on the publication’s annual list of 100 Best Corporate Citizens. Lexmark’s rank at No. 9 spot is the company’s highest performance.
